ABOUT
For over 25 years, DGJ Architektur stands for innovative ideas in sustainable residential construction. At the centre of our work lies a holistic and integrative understanding of sustainable architecture. For us, planning sustainable buildings is, above all, a creative task. Sustainable architecture can only be developed from a holistic understanding of design, construction and technology.
That is why we address all dimensions of sustainability in our projects: the buildings are optimised in terms of energy consumption and CO2 emissions. We construct most buildings to the KFW40-Plus standard. In the life cycle assessment, the construction method plays a decisive role in new buildings. We mainly use renewable building materials – especially wood – and design cycle-oriented buildings that favour the dismantling and reuse of materials and components. The ‘Open Architecture’ timber construction system developed by Hans Drexler has been successfully implemented in various of our projects and is characterised by the fact that only form-fitting and force-fitting wood-wood connections are used in the primary construction.
Finally, the social dimension also plays an important role in the sustainability of buildings. We see creating affordable living space as the core of our professional responsibility to society. The buildings must be appreciated by the residents and optimally meet their requirements in order to ensure their longevity. That is why we are working on new residential concepts and innovative ideas for communal living in participatory planning and construction processes.
Thanks to our partner office DGJ Paysages sàrl in Zurich and Paris, which specialises in innovative landscape architecture projects, we are part of an international and interdisciplinary network.
The numerous prizes and awards that we have received over the years are proof of the high quality and innovative strength of our work. They are not only a recognition of our projects, but also an affirmation of our continuous efforts to set standards for sustainable architecture.
We see competitions as an important opportunity to test new ideas and concepts and to demonstrate our creativity. We regularly take part in national and international competitions because they not only give us the opportunity to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges, but also to show our commitment to continuous development in residential construction.
Our job postings offer talented and dedicated professionals the opportunity to join our creative team. We are regularly looking for employees who want to work with us to shape the architecture of tomorrow. Our projects offer a wide range of opportunities for personal and professional development in an environment that promotes innovation and creativity.
