New European Bauhaus Germany visits the Collegium Academicum
For its video series “NEB DE unterwegs”, New European Bauhaus Germany visited the Collegium Academicum in Heidelberg (dgj223). The video shows how students and apprentices shape and run the self-managed residence together. Hans Drexler, managing partner of DGJ Architektur, joined the shoot in Heidelberg.
DGJ Architektur designed the Collegium Academicum as a prefabricated timber skeleton structure with a flexible spatial concept. In 2025, the project won the New European Bauhaus Prize in the category “Affordable Housing”.
The video was produced as part of “NEB DE unterwegs”. In this series, New European Bauhaus Germany visits projects on site and shows how the NEB is put into practice. New European Bauhaus Germany is managed by the Bundesstiftung Bauakademie on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building.
