Collegium Academicum featured as a European reference project in the New European Bauhaus Catalogue

The European Commission has included the Collegium Academicum in Heidelberg in the New European Bauhaus’s latest ‘Catalogue of Blueprints for Affordable and Resilient Homes’. The publication brings together selected European reference projects that provide exemplary solutions to the challenges of affordable, sustainable and resilient housing.

The Collegium Academicum is presented in the catalogue as a model project for collectively organised housing development. The publication particularly highlights the co-operative approach, the involvement of future residents in the construction process, the timber construction method, and the long-term safeguarding of affordable housing.

The catalogue was developed as part of the New European Bauhaus and is intended as a European collection of transferable strategies for sustainable forms of housing. The Collegium Academicum forms part of a selected portfolio of projects documenting different approaches to affordable and resilient housing in Europe.
