Timber Construction
Wood is the most sustainable building material since it is the only one that can be used in large quantities for all construction tasks and is not based on limited resources such as fossil fuels, sand, metal ores. It’s a local and renewable material. The production of wood actively counteracts the greenhouse effect because atmospheric carbon dioxide is bound in the wood.
DGJ Architektur are pioneers of multi-storey timber construction in Germany. With the Minimum Impact House, we built the first five-story wooden building in Hesse in 2007. DGJ Architektur develops new concepts and constructions for urban timber construction in multi-storey residential buildings. The combination of wood and energy efficiency creates a holistic, sustainable construction that corresponds to the current need and demand for sustainable, future-proof designs.
