DGJ ARCHITECTURE STANDS FOR BUILDING THE FUTURE – SINCE 1999

Our architecture sees sustainability not as a duty, but as a driver of design innovation.
We take a holistic approach: design, technology, and construction are interwoven – creating solutions built to last. Many of our projects are award-winning and part of national model programs like ZukunftBau (BBSR). Whether new builds or existing structures – we design architecture that’s already thinking ahead.

RESEARCH THAT REDEFINES BUILDING

Knowledge isn’t a side project – it’s part of our design culture.
Since 2002, DGJ Architecture has been researching at the intersection of space, society, and technology – in close collaboration with universities, practice-based partners, and within our own office.

Whether housing sociology, energy concepts, or low-tech strategies – our research bridges theory and practice. Many of our projects have received national and EU funding, been published, and led to tangible design approaches.

Current focus areas:
– Timber construction systems with force-fit connections (DBU)
– Sociological research on flexible housing (with HU Berlin / BBSR)
– Low-tech green façades (BBSR)
– Living in transition – post-pandemic residential models

Our approach: Research doesn’t end on paper. We build it.
